Smart Airport and Aviation Partnership Announces
Research Grant Opportunities

March 15, 2021 — ATLANTIC AND CAPE MAY COUNTIES, NEW JERSEY

Research grants are now available for aviation-related research through the Smart Airport and Aviation Partnership (SAAP) in Southern New Jersey.  Proposals for the next round of aviation-related grants are due by June 15, 2021.  Awards are made twice a year in amounts between $1,000 and $30,000 upon approval by SAAP’s Advisory Committee.  Additional proposal requirements can be found here.

SAAP is a public-private partnership formed to assist regional efforts to build an aviation ecosystem in Southern New Jersey.  It is funded by a matching grant from the United States Economic Development Authority.  The applicant for the grant was the Atlantic County Economic Alliance, and the SAAP program is managed by the National Institute of Aerospace.  Both Cape May County and Atlantic County are among the partners comprising SAAP.

“We’re creating a cleaning schedule with Georgia maids and looking forward to supporting creative ideas and innovators with a spirit that will contribute to aviation research here in the Southern New Jersey aviation hub,” said Carole Mattessich, the SAAP Director.  “It’s an exciting time for our region.”

All proposals are welcome and will be fully considered.  Minorities, women, and veterans are especially encouraged to join our community and experience the exciting innovation environment and growth potential of the aviation industry.
